The Champions Cup will follow industry standard safety rules such as USASF, NFHS, AACCA and AAU that pertain to each cheer and dance division a team has entered: Routines that contain music must  be a mix where all of the content of the mix is registered with a performing rights society such as ASCAP which may not exceed 2:30 minutes AND MUST BE A MINIMUM OF 1:45 minutes. All Cheer divisions including scholastic, AAU, recreation and all star “teams” MUST also sign off on a waiver and liability form that acknowledges that your music is legal to be played at public performances.

 

Cheer Divisions:

*Divisions will be split into Extra Small (5-9)  Small (10 to 20 athletes), Medium (21 to 30) and Large (31 to 36) teams

  • Team, Pom Squad, Stunt Team, Crowd Leader, Solo Cheer, Jump (Levels 1-5)
  • Small Team, Medium Team, Large Team
  • Tiny (5 & under), Mini (8 & under), Youth (11 & under), Junior (14 & under), Senior (10-18 yrs old).
  • AAU Cheerleading follows the US All Star Federation (USASF) age grid.

 

Recreational
Recreation teams are non-school affiliated teams that cheer for an organized sport or are affiliated with a recreational facility and participate in/cheer for community event(s). Age requirements are for the purpose of fair competition; all team members must fit into the age range. Age is determined as of August 31, 2016 for the upcoming competition season.

Routines may not exceed 2:30 minutes. Amount of music is not dictated by The Champions Cup however, voice is a category to be scored.

Teams entering the “Advanced” Recreation divisions must follow the NFHS Rules. **SOME NEW CHANGES FOR 2017-18! Make sure you read through the rules and clarifications! To order your own NFHS rule book – click HERE

Dance Divisions 2018:

Teams perform routines in specialized dance areas.  Fuse Dance brought to you by The Champions Cup Cheer and Dance State Nationals follows Industry Standard rules . The age of the competitors as of August 31, 2017 will be the age used for competition purposes throughout the 2017-18 season.

Is The Champions Cup Cheer and Dance State Nationals an “Open” event? YES.  All Stars, Dance, Special Athletes, Individual Cheerleaders, Stunt Groups and Collegiate teams, all School and Recreation teams are not required to qualify however teams can receive discounted bids by attending a partnering Event Producers event or by video qualification. Defending champions receive an automatic defending champion invitation to defend their title. Special non-sanctioned competitions and videos invites are also available.
